ABOUT THE ROLE: The RHRC is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Regional Liaison Team. This individual will be responsible for managing relationships with rural-relevant stakeholders in their region, including healthcare providers, community organizations, and state and federal entities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel to client locations and relevant events to better understand the needs of the communities served by the RHRC. You will work closely with other RHRC team members to identify resources that should be developed or dispatched based on your boots-on-the-ground insights.

WORK LOCATION: The Regional Liaison - Northeast is a remote position and will be filled by an individual located in one of the following states: DE, IN, KY MA, MD, ME, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VA, VT, WV

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience as a health care leader at the Director level or above.
  • Strong healthcare knowledge with familiarity with rural health issues and unique financial and operational challenges of rural hospitals preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of hospital operations, including the ability to understand financial statements, regulatory requirements, and strategic areas of opportunity.
  • General knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation for hospital licensure (CAH, PPS, REH etc.)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Be self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledgeable of innovative healthcare solutions.
  • Ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive work culture.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Must have reliable internet.
  • Willingness to travel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Education and Resource Development
    • Become familiar with the CMS Rural Emergency Hospital Conditions of Participation, in addition to other hospital licensures.
    • Support the development of educational materials and resources as requested.
  • Support healthcare providers and other rural community stakeholders that engage with the Rural Health Redesign Center by:
    • Establishing relationships with their leadership and support effective communication to governance, community, and various stakeholders, as needed.
    • Providing necessary education to these stakeholders, their communities, state offices of rural health, and other relevant entities on the services available through the RHRC and its various programs.
    • Serving as the liaison between them and the RHRC to identify technical assistance needs.
    • Collaborating with Program Directors and project teams to provide technical assistance to stakeholders.
    • Overseeing technical assistance activities being provided in the region.
    • Attending virtual meetings with clients and stakeholders
    • Identifying potential partners and service providers in the region.
  • Serve as the RHRC’s representative in the assigned region to provide boots-on-the-ground insights and strengthen stakeholder relations by:
    • Traveling to client and stakeholder locations with frequency to manage relationships.
    • Representing the RHRC at relevant events in the assigned region by hosting exhibit booths, attending sessions, and delivering public presentations.
    • Establishing relationships with the State Offices of Rural Health (SORH) and Flex coordinators in the assigned region.
    • Provide insights regarding areas of need for technical assistance and resources in the region.
  • Other:
    • Attend virtual RHRC team meetings.
    • Assisting with the execution of RHRC program activities as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Director of Client Services

WORK STATUS: Full-time, Exempt, 37.5-hour workweek.

SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $115,000, dependent on education and experience.

RHRC RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Selected applicants can anticipate two rounds of interviews covering technical, behavior, and personality-based questions.
  • Being team-oriented, our interviews are conducted by panels of peers.
  • The provision of three professional references is required if selected for 2nd rounds.
  • Typically, decisions are made upon the completion of 2nd rounds, however we reserve the right to request additional conversations to address any outstanding questions.
