Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Auto Accessory Installer to join our team at the port terminal. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining a variety of OEM and aftermarket accessories on new vehicles arriving at the terminal. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Accessory Installation: Install a range of automotive accessories, including roof rack systems, trailer hitches, wireless charging pads, park assist systems, interior lighting, exterior body kits, exhaust components, body decals, and other manufacturer- or customer-specified add-ons.
- Tool Operation: Utilize hand tools, air tools, and specialized automotive equipment for installation and minor repairs.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all installations meet OEM specifications and company quality standards.
- Documentation: Accurately complete work orders and maintain detailed installation and inspection records.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform minor maintenance and resolve installation issues as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and port terminal policies, including the use of required PPE.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and port personnel to ensure workflow efficiency and timely vehicle processing.
- Inventory Monitoring: Assist in tracking accessory and tool inventory, and report shortages or discrepancies.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License – Required
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and physical examination
Experience:
- Previous experience in auto accessory installation, automotive repair, or related mechanical work is strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong mechanical and basic electrical skills
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality work
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to operate vehicles, forklifts, and other powered equipment
- Adherence to safety protocols, including no use of personal cell phones while on duty
Certifications:
- Automotive certifications (e.g., ASE) are preferred but not required
