Position Overview

The Dishwasher is an essential member of the kitchen team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. This role ensures that the kitchen operates smoothly by providing clean and sanitized items for food preparation and service. The Dishwasher supports overall kitchen efficiency and contributes to a positive dining experience for guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Washing Dishes: Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash pots, pans, and utensils.
• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensure that all dishes and cooking equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
• Organizing: Properly sort and stack clean dishes and utensils for easy access by kitchen staff.
• Maintenance: Regularly maintain dishwashing equipment, report any malfunctions or maintenance needs, and communicate any supply needs to Management.
• Trash Disposal: Dispose of trash and recycling as needed, keeping the kitchen area clean and organized.
• Assisting Staff: Support kitchen staff by assisting with food prep tasks when not washing dishes.
• Adhering to Safety Standards: Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Availability: Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Skills and Abilities Required

• Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 40 lb.
• Attention to Detail: Must ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Working Conditions: Fast-paced kitchen environment, often requiring quick turnaround times.
• Scheduling: Ability to access online scheduling apps.
