Regional Business Manager at Verus Associates, Inc – Concord, California
About This Position
ABOUT VERUS
Verus is a boutique, employee-owned engineering and technical services firm that has been delivering industrial automation, controls, and consulting solutions since 2015. We operate across the West Coast with offices in California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Our clients trust us because we tell it like it is, we deliver what we promise, and we approach every engagement as a true partner — not just a vendor.
Our name means true, authentic, and honest in Latin. That’s the foundation everything else is built on — from how we serve clients to how we treat each other. We’re a firm of consultants, problem-solvers, and change-makers who are passionate about what we do.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re seeking a Regional Business Manager to lead the operations, business development, and financial performance of a Verus office. This is a leadership role for someone who can balance the strategic with the tactical — developing business plans and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered with excellence and the team is supported and growing.
You’ll report to the President and work closely with our leadership team. The right person for this role has deep roots in engineering or automation, understands how to run a P&L, and leads by example with authenticity and humility.

- Lead proposal development, project scoping, and estimation for new opportunities
- Achieve annual sales goals as a key contributor to Verus’ growth strategy
- Represent Verus in the market, building brand awareness and expanding our client base
Operations & Project Delivery
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects in collaboration with Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Provide high-level technical guidance and expert advice on designs, engineering processes, and system architecture.
- Implement and enforce compliance with the Verus Business Management System (BMS)
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in project execution and internal processes
People & Leadership
- Define performance expectations, monitor progress, and coach direct reports on leadership and professional development
- Develop skills and capabilities within the team to ensure sustainability and succession planning
- Promote initiatives for talent attraction, retention, and development
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across all Verus offices
Financial Management
- Manage the region P&L to maximize revenue, gross margin, and net profit
- Develop and execute a business plan aligned with the overall Verus strategy
- Complete monthly re-forecasting, budgets, and operational planning
- Optimize resource utilization and team assignments to create maximum value

And they understand that being part of one team means putting the client and the company ahead of any one office or individual.
