Job Description

Description:

- Review architectural drawings, approved millwork shop drawings, specifications, field dimensions, and production requirements before programming.

- Create accurate CNC programs for custom architectural millwork, cabinetry, fixtures, wall panels, doors, countertops, and specialty components.

- Convert AutoCAD, engineering, and shop-drawing files into machine-ready CNC programs.

- Develop optimized cutting patterns and nesting layouts to maximize material yield and minimize waste.

- Program routing, drilling, boring, grooving, pocketing, hardware preparation, and edge-profiling operations.

- Select the appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, feed rates, machining sequences, and hold-down methods for each material and application.

- Program components manufactured from plywood, MDF, particleboard, solid wood, veneer panels, laminate, plastics, composites, and other specialty materials.

- Generate clear part labels, cut lists, machining reports, and production documentation.

- Verify dimensions, tolerances, grain direction, finished-face orientation, edge-banding requirements, and hardware locations before releasing programs.

- Perform program simulations and identify potential collisions, machining conflicts, or design errors before production begins.

- Conduct first-piece inspections and make programming adjustments to ensure components meet approved drawings and quality standards.

- Troubleshoot CNC programming, tooling, vacuum, material-hold-down, and machining issues in coordination with CNC operators and maintenance personnel.

- Work closely with engineering, drafting, project management, estimating, purchasing, and production teams to resolve constructability and manufacturing issues.

- Recommend revisions to shop drawings or production methods when designs cannot be manufactured efficiently or safely.

- Maintain organized CNC files, program revisions, tooling libraries, material databases, and project folders.

- Ensure that only the latest approved drawings and program revisions are released to production.

- Track material usage, machining time, rework, and scrap to support accurate job costing and production planning.

- Identify opportunities to reduce machining time, material waste, setup time, and manual fabrication.

- Develop reusable programs, templates, macros, and manufacturing standards for recurring components and assemblies.

- Assist CNC operators with machine setup, tooling changes, spoil-board requirements, fixture preparation, and proper loading procedures

- Coordinate preventative maintenance needs and report machine, tooling, or software issues that may affect production.

- Support production scheduling by prioritizing programs according to project deadlines and shop requirements.

- Inspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy, machining quality, surface condition, and compliance with project requirements.

- Follow Bestmark National’s quality-control procedures, safety policies, and housekeeping standards.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe programming and CNC work area.

- Participate in production meetings and communicate potential delays, material issues, or programming concerns before they affect project schedules.

- Train CNC operators and other production personnel on program requirements, setup procedures, tooling, and quality expectations.

- Stay current with CNC technology, tooling developments, software updates, and architectural millwork manufacturing practices.

- Perform additional programming, engineering, and production-support duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· 5 years’ minimum experience in the millwork industry

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Excellent oral and written communication

· Must be able to work overtime when needed

· Highly motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision
