- Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership to underwriting teams, ensuring high-quality analysis and consistent delivery across all business lines
- Develop and execute pricing and margin strategies in collaboration with client engagement and leadership teams
- Oversee underwriting workflows, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timely completion of all deliverables
- Lead the preparation and review of financial responses for RFPs, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives
- Partner with legal and client teams to validate contract terms, pricing structures, and financial assumptions
- Support contract negotiations and participate in client-facing discussions to articulate value propositions and financial strategies
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, documentation practices, and bid tracking processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including staffing strategies, productivity metrics, and operational efficiencies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 8 years of underwriting or related experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong expertise in underwriting methodologies, financial modeling, and pricing strategy development
- Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios, and financial projections
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex client or partner relationships
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Experience in pharmacy benefit management (PBM) or health plan underwriting is a strong advantage
