Summary:
We are seeking a Director of Operational Performance Engineering to lead strategy, direction, and implementation of technical processes focused on optimizing operational performance across renewable energy assets. This role will drive performance improvements, oversee analytics and modeling, and collaborate across engineering, operations, and asset management teams to maximize efficiency and reliability.

As a Director, Operational Performance Engineering You Will:

• Lead operational performance engineering activities across renewable energy assets including solar and energy storage systems
• Develop and execute performance strategies, analytics, and tools to improve operational efficiency and output
• Conduct advanced data analysis, modeling, and root cause investigations to identify and resolve performance issues
• Collaborate with asset management, field operations, and remote operations teams to ensure alignment and execution
• Oversee performance reporting and provide actionable insights to improve operational outcomes
• Establish KPIs and track performance improvements across the organization
• Develop and implement technical processes, systems, and procedures to support operational excellence
• Support technical investment decisions to improve reliability and long-term asset performance
• Serve as a key point of contact for performance systems, tools, and third-party vendors
• Partner with subcontractors and field teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematical Science, or related field required; Masters preferred
• 8-10 years of experience in performance engineering, analytics, or renewable energy operations
• Experience working with large-scale solar (PV) or energy storage (BESS) systems
• Strong data analysis and performance optimization experience
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, monitoring platforms, and energy performance modeling tools
• Experience leading technical teams and cross-functional initiatives
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation and system performance analysis
• Experience working with third-party vendors and technical service providers
• Ability to travel up to 20%
