Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Advanced Denodo Developer – Data Integration. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

A Denodo Developer designs, develops, and maintains data virtualization solutions using the Denodo Platform, integrating data from multiple sources to deliver unified, efficient business data views.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Denodo Views and data virtualization layers to unify data from diverse sources such as relational databases, cloud platforms, big data, and SaaS applications
  • Optimize query performance and tune the Denodo environment to ensure efficient data retrieval
  • Design and implement scheduling jobs within Denodo (e.g., Denodo Scheduler) to automate data workflows
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, data architects, and analysts to gather requirements, analyze data needs, and design appropriate virtual data models
  • Develop new functionalities and maintain existing features on the Denodo platform, including writing automated tests and maintaining product documentation
  • Implement security protocols and access controls to protect data within the virtualization platform
  • Troubleshoot integration and data quality issues within the virtualized environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Denodo Platform, especially in developing data views and working within its virtualization environment
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design; ability to write complex queries and perform data modeling
  • Experience with Java programming and object-oriented design principles
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and web technologies is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and translate technical requirements
  • Experience with tools like Git, Jenkins, Maven, and familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Certifications such as Denodo Platform Certified Developer, Administrator, or Architect are highly valued
  • Preferred experience includes working knowledge of web services (REST APIs), security protocols (OAuth, SAML), Snowflake Platform and integration with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Typically requires 5-7 years of experience in software development or specifically working with data virtualization tools
  • Prior experience with ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage) and data quality frameworks can be beneficial but not mandatory

Combined Salary Range

USD $132,930.00 - USD $143,835.00 /Yr.
