THE RIGHT PERSON
This is a high-impact opportunity for a strategic, analytical professional to play a key role in shaping an assigned department’s financial and operational success. In this role, you will lead complex budget development and monitoring efforts, serve as a trusted partner on fiscal matters with the Finance Department, and ensure the timely preparation and oversight of critical reports required by law and regulation for government bodies and external agencies. You will also drive the development and maintenance of dashboards and performance reporting that support departmental goals, inform decision-making, and help turn data into action.

• Use data analytics and business intelligence to help streamline reporting and other processes for City departments.
• Be comfortable with pivoting and changing priorities to successfully deliver projects with varying deadlines.
• Be a self-starter who brings new ideas to the table and runs with it.
• Have a passion for gathering data and transforming it from raw into a finished product with a compelling narrative to inform important community decisions.

Recruitment timeline:
Education/Training: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field, is preferred. However, equivalent experience, certification, licensure and/or education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Two - three years of increasingly responsible professional-level administrative, analytical, and/or budgetary experience related to assigned area. Experience in administering programs in a governmental jurisdiction is highly desirable.
Senior Management Analyst:
Education/Training: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field, is preferred. A master's degree is highly desirable. However, equivalent experience, certification, licensure and/or education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Five years of increasingly-responsible professional-level administrative, analytical, and/or budgetary experience related to assigned area. Experience in administering programs in a governmental jurisdiction is highly desirable.
Benefits:
Holidays – The City observes fourteen (14) paid holidays that include eleven (11) specifically designated days as recognized by the State of California and three (3) floating holidays.
Bereavement Leave - Employees are eligible to use up to 40 hours of bereavement leave per fiscal year.
Group Health Insurance Program – A new employee will become a member of one of the City's group health plans (Aetna HMO, Aetna AWH HMO, Aetna PPO, or Kaiser HMO) effective the first day of the month following their date of hire. The City will pay 90% of the health care premium and employees will pick up 10% of the premiums of the plan they select.
Voluntary Dental/Vision Insurance Programs – The City offers two voluntary dental insurance programs, an HMO program and a PPO Program, as well as a voluntary vision insurance program.
Retiree Health Savings (RHS) – All employees participate in a Retiree Health Savings plan through the ICMA Retirement Corporation.
Deferred Compensation Employer Match Program - The City offers a Deferred Compensation Employer Match Program, matching employee contributions up to 2%
Bilingual Pay: A stipend of $100 per month will be paid to those employees utilizing their bilingual skills in the performance of their duties.
Additional Benefits – The City offers additional benefits such as short and long-term disability, group life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, employee benefit allocation program and workers' compensation insurance.
