Position Summary

As the Lead Bartender at Moneygun, you are a role model for the bar team and an extension of management. You set the standard for speed, technique, cleanliness, service, teamwork, and genuine hospitality, while consistently demonstrating strong bartending skills across all areas of the bar. You lead by example and build trust with the team through your consistency, dependability, accountability, and clear communication.

Additional Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To:

  • Ensure all drinks and steps of service are executed consistently at the highest level
  • Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and overall readiness for service
  • Train new team members and support ongoing development of existing staff
  • Assist with maintaining and updating training materials alongside leadership
  • Lead and coordinate Monthlygun cocktail submissions, including recipe documentation, costing, and timelines
  • Support service by running drinks and food, and assisting with table maintenance as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs for bar supplies, glassware, dry goods, and ingredients
  • Support inventory processes, including monthly counts and tracking
  • Ensure opening, closing, and sidework duties are completed accurately and consistently
  • Support floor awareness, including guest experience, seating flow, and recognition of VIPs and regulars
  • Assist with social media needs, including facilitating photos or content opportunities
  • Develop familiarity with bar ordering processes, including liquor, produce, and other supplies
  • Utilize POS systems and other tools to support daily operations (e.g., comps, voids, 86ing items, discounts)
  • Engage with guests to build relationships, address concerns, and contribute to a strong sense of community
  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for both guests and team members

When acting in a leadership capacity:

  • Support overall floor operations, including bar, service, host stand, and support staff
  • Set and maintain the overall vibe of the space, including music and lighting
  • Monitor guest interactions and intoxication levels to ensure a safe environment
  • Assist with staff closeouts and ensure accurate tip reporting
  • Document notable events, guest issues, or incidents as needed
  • Ensure adherence to operational standards, policies, and procedures
  • Complete all closing procedures and support end-of-night operations
  • Assist with floor management decisions, including staff cuts and flow of service
Requirements:

About You

  • 3+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume or craft cocktail environment
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, and bar technique
  • Confident working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Natural leader who leads by example and supports team development
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams during service
  • Consistent, reliable, and accountable in both performance and attitude
  • Strong sense of hospitality and ability to connect with guests in a genuine way
  • Comfortable handling guest concerns and making decisions in the moment
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities during service
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation
Position Details & Benefits
  • Job Type: Full-time, Hourly
  • Compensation: $15 - $17/hour DOE + $25/hour as MOD
  • Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
