Summary of Position:The Mechatronics Engineer II will provide support to the Automation Engineering Team. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering 3+ years of experienceQualifications:
- Research, design, and deploy basic mechanical systems
- Design and select suitable parts for mechanical systems, computer vision/ML applications
- Design a Proof-of-concept to show the feasibility of the proposed solution, provide product demonstrations
- Provide pre-and post-sales technical support working with the customer from prior to sale through delivery and installation
- Research and implement appropriate systems, tools, and algorithms
- Prepare product specifications for implementation of customer solutions
- Design, develop, and support the installation and maintenance of company products and ensure that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions
- Receive general instructions on routine work, new projects, or assignments
- Build productive working relationships internally and externally
- Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field, 2+ years of experience
- Experience with Python in a Linux Environment
- Competency in 3D modeling-CAD using SolidWorks design software
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (AWS)
- Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for Robotics and AI
- Must be located within the UK
