About This Position
Reporting to the Public Services Director and the Finance Director, the Utility Clerk is the initial point of contact for the Utility District and is responsible for providing customer service to customers, vendors, contractors, and residents over the phone and in person. The Utility Clerk coordinates quarterly billing including collection and posting of payments, generating bills and answering questions. The Utility Clerk also generates required state reports and assists with the administrative tasks for the Utility District.

- Maintains customer accounts in billing system.
- Generates and prints quarterly bills and processes payments.
- Assists with processing special assessment letters.
- Generates required reporting including annual tax roll assessments.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliation for Finance Department.
- Provides customer service.
- Coordinates meter change-outs with staff and residents.
- Orders office supplies.
- Provides administrative support to the Utility Operations Supervisor and Village Hall.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of Clerical/Administrative experience required, with preferred billing experience.
- Advanced education is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents, records, and communications required.
- Experience with computers, copiers, and other standard office equipment required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Adept at learning new skills, capable of handling several assignments at one time, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and take appropriate action based on standard procedures.
