Job Description
Dental Assistant
Myers Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics - Jacksonville - BEACH location
Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 7:40am to 5:20pm
Compensation: Up to $24/hour, DOE
Benefits: Medical, In House Dental, Vision, PTO, Sick Holiday, 401k (4% match), scrub reimbursement
Summary: Assists the Doctor with dental functions as well as the preparation/clean up of treatment areas by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including child cleanings, restorations, extractions, and all aspects of pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
Manage patient records efficiently using Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and records management.
Provide chairside assistance by handling instruments, suctioning, and maintaining proper aseptic technique throughout procedures.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions to promote ongoing dental health.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and calling and greeting patients
Qualifications:
• Proficiency with dental software Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging, and vital signs monitoring.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with children in a clinical setting.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting as well as children’s cleanings
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists; experience in pediatrics is a plus!
1 year of Dental Assisting Experience
Experience in Pediatrics is Idyllic!
