Plant Services Custodian at Electric Boat – Groton, Connecticut

Electric Boat is seeking to hire Plant Services Custodians for our facilities industrial and office spaces.

Duties and responsibilities consist, of but are not limited to the following:

• Cleaning of bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of floors, clean-up of blood-borne pathogens and HWM, carpet extraction operations, sanitizing and disinfecting, dusting, emptying of cigarette waste containers, etc.
• Stocking of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers.
• Garbage pickup and removal
• Flood response including placement of sandbags in flood prone areas and flood restorations.
• Paper shredding coordination
• Landscaping (e.g. weed whacking) and snow and deicing operations

The job requires working with chemicals and working in buildings with no elevators requiring frequent use of stairs.

• Strong cooperation skills and being a team player required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Being a self-starter and capable of working alone required.

Required:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ years of cleaning experience in an industrial, commercial, manufacturing, or agricultural setting
• Ability to walk up and down stairs routinely.
• Experience and ability to work with cleaning and disinfecting products.
• Be flexible to work assignment locations.

Preferred:

• Working daily and weekend overtime as requested in support of assignments preferred
