Position Description:
EDM Team Leader for Sinker, Hole Popper and Wire machines will PERFORM AND OVERSEE day-to-day operations of various tasks. This is a 1st shift position, Mon-Thur 5:30 am – 3:30 pm.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Read micrometers, calipers, indicators and comparators
- Identify visual defects
- Use and check various fixtures
- Set up EDM machines
- Identify and correct machine operational problems
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines
- Verify settings for special process approvals
- Create and review part number work instruction before the implementation and manufacturing of parts
- Communicate any questions and verify completeness and accuracy
- Train employees and ensure that all team members are productive
- Communicate and develop team member’s technical skills
- Track production and participate in production meetings
- Ensure that all materials to fulfil the work orders are present
- Monitor all Quality Documentation to ensure compliance
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of motivation
- Ensure good manufacturing practices and safety policies are followed
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Sinker, Wire, and fast hole EDM drilling experience; preferred
- Machining experience with the ability to understand G code a plus
- Team leader experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership skills are a must
- Accountable for meeting Safety, Quality, Reliability and Scrap measures
- Ability to understand and use the Nadcap check list and handbook to assist in writing work instructions
- Ability to understand and implement part number work instructions, this includes equipment operations
- Familiarity of various alarm codes
- Ability to read prints
- Knowledge and understanding the ISO 9001/AS 9100 and Nadcap procedures and requirements is preferred
- Self-motivated, flexibility of job duties, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Blend of technical, interpersonal skills, and continuous learning skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Work overtime as necessary, based on production needs/demands
