About This Position

Description:

Summary

Responsible for overall effectiveness of final inspection of precision machined aerospace parts. Coordinate with quality manager and other inspection team leads to ensure that necessary resources are available to ensure necessary throughput to meet the planned production schedule. Assist in coaching and training inspectors. Coordinate with quality engineering and customers to ensure that appropriate qualifications and standards are met. Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to resolve any quality related issues identified during inspection process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement best practices for final inspection of precision machined parts.

• Ensure that final inspection team are trained in necessary inspection techniques and Acutec’s quality procedures.

• Manage and oversee allocation of responsibilities for final inspection team.

• Participate in daily production meeting and provide daily updates on critical jobs and any throughput concerns.

• Hold team accountable to metrics related to throughput, effectiveness, and quality standards.

• Ensure that non-conformances are recorded thoroughly.

• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure that quality issues are resolved in a timely manner and according to acceptable processes.

• Ensure that inspection documentation (final inspection reports, first article inspection reports, source inspection documents, etc) are properly completed and submitted.

• Manage source inspection processes, ensuring that source inspectors are appropriately trained and assigned.

• Attend various planning and/or management meetings and provide necessary input and guidance related to production scheduling, training, corrective actions.

• Perform necessary management activities (time and attendance, leading a weekly team meeting, etc)

• Perform other related duties as required.

Key Roles

• Lead, Manage, and Hold others accountable for productivity and quality

• Maximize utilization of personnel resources to ensure effective throughout through the final inspection department.

• Ensure that non-conformances are detected, properly documented, and addressed per the appropriate processes.

• Ensure that inspection documentation and processes comply to both customer and Acutec quality requirements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements:

Five to seven years experience working in a manufacturing environment with at least three years supervisory experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include supervision, training, and assisting employees.

Physical Demands

Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing or bending; and lifting or moving objects.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and/or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud. Overtime is required when necessary.
