Job Description: Commercial Loan Execution Specialist

Department: Loans

Status: Full-time

Position Summary

The Commercial Loan Execution Specialist is responsible for owning and driving the execution of the commercial loan pipeline from application through funding and renewal. This role ensures loans are processed accurately, efficiently, and within defined service standards. This role is essential to the bank’s ability to grow commercial lending efficiently and responsibly. By ensuring loans are executed quickly, accurately, and without friction, the Commercial Loan Execution Specialist directly contributes to: increased loan production capacity, improved customer satisfaction, enhanced operational efficiency, and reduced risk and errors.


Responsibilities

Pipeline Ownership & Execution

Own and actively manage an assigned pipeline of commercial loans from application to fundingTrack status, identify bottlenecks, and drive the timely progression of all filesEnsure no loan stalls due to lack of follow-up or coordinationMaintain clear visibility of pipeline status for lenders and leadership

Loan Processing & Documentation Accuracy

Prepare, review, and verify all loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and complianceEnsure proper execution of documents including loan terms, rates, structures, and required disclosuresMaintain a zero-defect mindset to minimize rework, audit findings, and funding delays

Exception Management & Resolution

Own exception tracking and resolution process across assigned loansProactively work with lenders, credit, and customers to clear outstanding exceptionsPrioritize renewals and high-impact loans to ensure timely completion

Turnaround Time & Throughput Management

Meet or exceed established service level expectations for: File review turnaroundDocumentation preparation Funding readiness timelinesEffectively manage workload to handle expected loan volume and deadlines


Pre-Closing & Post-Closing Quality Control

Conduct pre-closing reviews to ensure files are complete and ready for fundingPerform post-closing reviews to validate documentation accuracy and complianceIdentify and correct issues before they impact audit or servicing

Communication & Coordination

Serve as central point of coordination between lenders, credit, operations, and customersProvide proactive status updates and escalate issues when necessary Ensure all stakeholders are informed—no surprises in the process

Customer & Lender Experience

Contribute to a fast, efficient, and seamless loan experience Support lenders by reducing friction and enabling faster deal execution Help deliver a consistent “WOW” experience through speed, accuracy, and communication

Process Improvement & Efficiency

Identify process inefficiencies, documentation issues, or system gapsRecommend and support improvements to workflows, systems, and proceduresLeverage technology to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, banking regulations, and legal requirementsMaintain strict confidentiality of customer informationProtect the bank from operational, regulatory, and documentation risk


Performance & Accountability Metrics

Success in this role will be measured by:

Turnaround Time: % of loans processed within defined SLAPipeline Throughput: Volume of loans processed and funded per periodFile Accuracy: Error rates, audit findings, and rework levelsException Management: Aging of outstanding exceptions and resolution timelinesFunding Efficiency: Time from approval to fundingLender Satisfaction: Internal feedback from lending partnersCustomer Experience: Speed and smoothness of loan execution


Education & Experience

High School diploma required; some college or relevant experience preferredExperience in commercial loan processing or banking operations preferredKnowledge of commercial loan documentation (DBAs, LLCs, Corporations, etc.)


Skills & Competencies

Strong Organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsEffective communication skills (written and verbal)Ability to work independently while contributing to a teamProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
