POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Medical Equipment and Supplies
The technician must be self-motivated with a pleasant attitude. He/she will provide high-quality customer service in a professional and caring manner. He/she has the basic skills to ensure the safe operation of all equipment. He/she is responsible for the delivery, set-up and pick up of home medical equipment (HME), supplemental oxygen products, and supplies to home care patients. He/she must clean equipment daily along with keeping all storage areas clean, neat, organized and properly stocked at all times. He/she is a responsible as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide necessary office skills consistent with Continuum Care’s policies and procedures as needed.

Administrator QUALIFICATIONS
1. Graduate from an accredited high school or GED equivalency.
2. Be at least 18 years of age.
3. Valid U.S. Virgin Islands Driver’s License
4. Excellent driving record.
5. Good physical condition.
6. Good organizational skills.
7. Willing to function as a cooperative team member.
8. Responsible and cooperative attitude.
9. Clean and neat in personal appearance.
10. Knowledge of sanitizing and disinfection procedures.
11. Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
12. Experience dealing with customers in a healthcare setting
13. Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
14. Skilled in driving different vehicles.
15. Must be able to perform on-the-spot problem solving, make judgment calls, have deductive reasoning, common sense and be a decision maker.
16. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
17. Must be computer literate (i.e. Internet, e-mail, etc.) and proficient in entering data into the computer system.
18. The ability to effectively coordinate work with others.
19. The ability to efficiently juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for compliance with all DOT and FDA regulations as they pertain to oxygen.
2. Assist, when necessary, the pulling of equipment and supplies from the warehouse as prescribed on patient plan of care.
3. Assures proper segregation of clean and dirty equipment on delivery vehicle.
4. Loads the equipment, oxygen systems, and related supplies on to a delivery vehicle.
5. Determines or obtains best daily route, then drives delivery vehicles on that route, to delivery home medical equipment, oxygen and supplies to home care patients/clients in a timely manner.
6. Completes route sheet accurately and maintains route sheet log binder.
7. Provides patient education, instructing on the proper use, maintenance, and safety of equipment.
8. Works with patients to solve a variety of problems, thereby acting as a CCI field representative.
9. Responsible for compliance with all DOT and FDA regulation as pertaining to warehouse.
10. Familiar with all the equipment and office supplies (within the probationary period.)
11. Maintain supply quotas/par levels and initiate replacement as needed.
12. Operates all equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
13. Organizes and labels all items within all storage areas with minimum assistance.
14. Keeps all storage area clean, neat, organized and properly stocked at all times.
15. Discards all unused empty boxes.
16. Cleans and disinfects daily all necessary equipment and supplies properly.
17. Assists in minor repair work within scope of training.
18. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
19. Completes pick-ups and delivery of equipment when required.
20. Maintains inventory.
21. All other duties may be required.
Equipment Responsibilities
1. Cleaning equipment, disposable supplies, maps, protective devices, radio, seat belt, telephone, tie, downs, time clock, wheel chair, mechanical tools etc.
2. Picks up equipment, as directed.
3. Returns and unloads returned equipment at the warehouse, assuring proper segregation of clean and dirty equipment within the warehouse.
4. Completes delivery and pick up paperwork promptly and accurately, including route sheets, manifests and patient documentation, returning paperwork to CCI.
5. Assists in cleaning and disinfecting rental equipment. Assists in minor repair work within scope of training.
6. Assists in cleaning and stocking or warehouse as needed.
7. Maintains inventory.
8. Performs daily preventative maintenance and vehicle checks, as required, on assigned vehicle.
9. Maintains a neat, clean personal appearance, and appears in proper company uniform.
10. Performs all warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
11. Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with customers.
12. Presents CCI in a positive and professional manner at all times.
13. Assumes other duties within scope of training as assigned by Administrator.
Organizational Responsibilities
1. Customer Service: Exhibit customers focus when dealing with customers, visitors, associates, and vendors. Maintains a neat and clean work appearance.
2. Human Resources: Follows all policies and procedures. Accountable for advancing own professional practice through ongoing continuing education and product research.
3. Safety: Follows safety management policies and procedures within the organization and participated in safety education requirements.
4. Cost Containment: Take personal responsibility for maximizing budget resources. Provided suggestions for cost containment and revenue enhancement.
5. Schedule: Maintains/updates/keeps current the patient/employee schedule for CCI and CHHS. Final to be prepared for following week and completed each Thursday afternoon and posted to Google Docs.
6. Continuing Education: Maintains Continuing Education for CCI staff. For HHA, insure education program available first Payday each month and answer sheets returned the second payday each month. Maintain statistics and test scores.
7. Quality Improvement: Monthly QAPI reports and audits to include DME, Preventative maintenance of DME.
8. Relieve/assist CCI office Administrative Assistant as needed.
