About This Position
Job Summary: The IT Infrastructure Facilities Expansion Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all IT-related infrastructure requirements for new facilities, expansions, relocations, and major renovations. This role ensures seamless delivery of data connectivity, network infrastructure, client-side equipment, access controls, and low-voltage systems in alignment with corporate IT standards, security requirements, and business timelines.
Job Duties:
IT Representative for Organic Growth
- Serve as key technical lead & IT liaison for new corporate sites (Orangefields) and existing site relocations. Plan and execute the delivery of core technology services and overall network design.
- Coordinate with low-voltage contactors, security camera vendors, internet providers, and internal departments where required (project management office, logistics department, facilities department, internal IT teams).
- Ensure that all technological components are delivered on time, on budget, and ready for operational use at go-live.
ISP and SD-WAN Implementation
- Oversee implementation of the SD-WAN and ISP connectivity (physical underlay and satellite) at new corporate locations.
- Coordinate with SD-WAN provider on ISP selection, site surveys, and circuit turn-up.
- Work with Infrastructure Manager on final signoffs of all design documents and contracts.
- Ensure redundancy, resiliency, network failover, and security best practices are met as new sites are deployed.
Design of Low Voltage & Internal Network Infrastructure
- Design and plan low-voltage (LV) layouts, including:
- Structured cabling (CAT6/6A, fiber)
- Data room buildouts (design, racks, power, cooling)
- Wireless access point design and placement
- Client PCs, printers, other network device placement
- Camera system deployment and badge access terminals if applicable
- Coordinate with logistics management on proposed layout.
- Work with Infrastructure Manager on approval for drawings, floor plans, and low-voltage designs.
- Interact with LV vendor on RFP process and subsequent scheduling and installation of approved designs.
Implementation and Procurement of Infrastructure Equipment
- Use established suppliers to procure infrastructure equipment as dictated by approved site designs & layouts, including but not limited to:
- Switches & access points
- UPS battery backup units
- Wall-mount network racks
- Laser & label printers with associated media & supplies
- Other LOB necessary accessories as needed
- Collaborate with Customer Experience Team for laptop/desktop procurement where needed.
- Work with network administrator and SD-WAN provider on configuration of firewalls, switching, and wireless infrastructure.
- Coordinate with system administrator on configuration of camera system.
Documentation and Budgeting
- Define and maintain IT standards for facility builds (network topology, cabling, labeling).
- Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, pictures, and as-built drawings for all locations.
- Track budgets, forecast costs, and identify opportunities for standardization and cost saving
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support
- Experience and comprehensive knowledge in the following areas:
- Structured cabling and low-voltage systems
- SD-WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches
- Wi-Fi systems
- Data room designs
- Security and camera systems
- Proven experience supporting multi-site environments and facility expansions
- Strong understanding of network security and enterprise infrastructure standards
- Project management experience (certification a plus)
- Experience in distribution industry and/or warehouse environments
- Strong organizational and documentation ability
- Familiarity with construction project lifecycles, network diagrams, and architectural drawings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This includes the ability to communicate technical subjects to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
