About the Role

PATHS, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Access: Verification & Authorization Specialist to support weekend operations at a behavioral health client facility in Eagleville, PA.

This role serves as a critical point of contact in the patient journey by ensuring accurate insurance verification, authorization management, and financial transparency. The ideal candidate brings strong payer knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Verification & Authorizations
  • Verify accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information at patient arrival
  • Confirm insurance coverage, benefits, and service eligibility
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to verify benefits, service limits, and authorization requirements
  • Navigate payer portals such as Availity, Navinet, ePromise, and Pear to verify benefits and submit authorization requests
  • Obtain, manage, and monitor prior authorizations, ensuring correct CPT codes, units, service lines, and timely renewals
  • Track authorization visit counts, expiration dates, and follow-up requirements
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all payer interactions within the EHR
  • Assist patients with the Medicaid application process as needed
Coordination & Collaboration
  • Work closely with clinical staff to obtain required documentation for authorization submissions
  • Partner with billing and operations teams to resolve authorization or coverage issues
  • Proactively address access or financial barriers to support smooth patient flow
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely within the EHR
  • Follow organizational guidelines related to authorizations, collections, and financial communication
Requirements: Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional healthcare administration training a plus)
  • Experience in a medical office, hospital, behavioral health, or customer service environment preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, authorizations, and medical terminology preferred
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer applications
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Training Requirement
  • Training will take place at the Allentown, PA office for 4–6 weeks
  • Mileage reimbursement provided for training-related travel
Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health environment
