Job Profile Summary:
Plans, develops, organizes and directs the day to day functions of the Nursing Services Department.
Key Responsibilities:
•Participates in the developing, maintaining and updating of the facility's written policy and procedures that govern the day to day functions of the Nursing Services Department.
•Completes reports, forms, evaluations, studies, charting as necessary.
•Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the operation of the Nursing Services Department.
•Acts for the director of nursing services, administrator or assistant administrator in their absence when so directed.
•Serves on and participates in committees as directed.
•Evaluates and implements recommendations from established committees as they pertain to nursing services.
•Assists in determining the staffing needs of the Nursing Department.
•Works collaboratively with Human Resources around disciplinary issues.
•Works effectively with all departments.
•Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance procedures for reporting hazardous conditions or equipment.
•Directly supervises staffing coordinator, Nursing Educator, unit secretaries and supervisors.
•Plans for and makes final decisions on capital purchases.
•Evaluates new/different products and decides based on quality, efficiency and cost what the department will use.
•May oversee maintenance of position control •
•Participates in the nursing department’s continuous improvement program.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing; preferably in long term care, rehabilitation or complex care.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
• New York State Registered Nurse license with current registration

PAY RANGE: $95,000.00 - $145,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
