Position Summary
The Director of Business Development – Centrifugal Compressors is responsible for driving market expansion and strategic growth of the company’s centrifugal compressor portfolio within the United States. A primary focus of this role is evaluating the U.S. market and developing a commercialization strategy to introduce and grow adoption of the RIX CentriCore centrifugal compressor product line.
This position combines expertise in rotating equipment with market intelligence, strategic planning, and technical business development. The Director will identify market opportunities, develop entry strategies, and build relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to establish a strong market presence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market analysis to evaluate opportunities for centrifugal compressor technologies across U.S. industrial and process markets.
- Assess market segments, customer needs, regulatory considerations, and competitive positioning for the RIX CentriCore compressor portfolio.
- Develop and execute market entry strategies including target industries, channel strategies, pricing positioning, and product alignment.
- Identify strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and collaboration opportunities that support market expansion.
- Identify and develop new revenue opportunities for centrifugal compressor systems, upgrades, and aftermarket services.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers at industrial end users, engineering firms, OEM partners, and distributors.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of strategic opportunities aligned with business growth objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering and applications teams to align compressor offerings with U.S. customer requirements.
- Support development of technical proposals, performance evaluations, and lifecycle cost analyses.
- Support complex technical sales engagements and strategic customer opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to improve product positioning and sales effectiveness.
- Assist in establishing sales processes, channel strategies, and go-to-market frameworks for centrifugal compressor products.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical forums related to turbomachinery and industrial compressors.
- Deliver technical presentations and value propositions to prospective customers and partners.
- Partner with engineering, program management, customer support, service, and operations teams to ensure successful product introduction and execution.
- Provide structured market feedback to guide product development, adaptation, and commercialization efforts.
- Support development of training materials and technical resources for internal teams and channel partners.
- All other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years of experience in rotating equipment, turbomachinery, industrial compressors, or related industrial equipment markets.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, market expansion, product commercialization, or strategic sales.
- Working knowledge of centrifugal compressor technology and turbomachinery fundamentals.
- Familiarity with industrial compressed air and process gas applications.
- Understanding of compressor performance characteristics and system integration.
- Knowledge of U.S. industrial markets including manufacturing, energy, chemicals, and infrastructure sectors.
- Proven ability to build relationships with contractors, engineering firms, OEMs, and industrial end users.
- Strong strategic thinking, market analysis, and opportunity pipeline development skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time depending on business need.
- U.S. Citizen or Qualified U.S. Person in accordance with 22 CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, MS, or advanced degree in a related field.
- Established professional network within industrial manufacturing, energy, engineering firms, and turbomachinery industries.
- Experience introducing new technologies or leading commercialization efforts within industrial equipment markets.

- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
