About This Position
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse operations at the Fort Madison facility, including receiving, inventory control, storage, kitting, and shipping. This role ensures accurate inventory, efficient material flow, and on-time order fulfillment to support production and customer demand.
This position leads warehouse personnel, drives process discipline, and partners cross-functionally with Procurement, Production, and Logistics to support operational performance and continuous improvement.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $77,000 – $90,000 annually

Responsibilities
- Lead warehouse start-up activities including layout, racking, storage strategy, and material flow design
- Establish inventory locations, bin structures, and material handling processes
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, kitting, and shipping
- Ensure accurate and timely picking, kitting, and shipment of materials and finished goods
- Manage receiving processes including inspection, documentation, and system entry
- Own inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes
- Investigate discrepancies and drive root cause resolution
- Maintain real-time inventory visibility within ERP systems
- Hire, train, and develop warehouse team members as the facility scales
- Set expectations and hold team accountable for safety, productivity, and accuracy
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance of warehouse personnel
- Optimize warehouse layout, workflows, and material flow to improve efficiency and reduce handling
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cost and waste
- Partner with Materials, Procurement, Production Planning, and Operations to align priorities and material availability
- Communicate risks related to shortages, delays, or inventory issues
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators including inventory accuracy, order accuracy, on-time shipments, and productivity
- Take corrective action when performance expectations are not met

Requirements:Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship building abilities.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
