About the Role:

The CNA Tier 2 position is a critical role within the healthcare team, focused on providing advanced patient care and support under the supervision of nursing staff. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their care journey. The CNA Tier 2 is expected to handle more complex tasks than entry-level CNAs, including specialized patient care procedures and documentation. This position requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care. Ultimately, the CNA Tier 2 contributes significantly to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall patient experience in the healthcare setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
  • Current state certification or licensure as required by local regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care procedures and infection control standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Physical capability to perform patient care tasks, including lifting and moving patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Experience in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff promptly.
  • Provide support with mobility, including transferring patients and assisting with exercises as directed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans and respond to patient needs efficiently.

The required skills enable the CNA Tier 2 to provide compassionate and competent patient care daily, ensuring patients' physical and emotional needs are met. Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with the healthcare team and providing clear updates on patient status. Attention to detail is critical when monitoring vital signs and documenting care activities to maintain accurate health records. Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary to assist patients safely with mobility and personal care tasks. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with EHR systems and specialized care experience, enhance the CNA's ability to deliver efficient and tailored care, contributing to better patient outcomes and streamlined healthcare operations.
