About This Position
Job Position Summary: The Inspector ensures the integrity and suitability of manufactured goods for delivery to customers. Performs inspection of parts according to customer specifications.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a thorough understanding of inspection methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Experience in Aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of 6S.
- Time-management and Organization skills
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Prior supervisory or management experience in production is preferred.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, delegating task and providing guidance.
- Ability to manage projects and get them done in a timely manner.
- Ability to adapt to business needs.
- Strong communication skills to convey information and provide instruction to the team.
- Ability to work well with other employees.
- Ability to Identify areas for improvement and think strategically to enhance efficiency.
- Ability to identify root cause and solve problems in a timely and effective manner.
- Full understanding of the manufacturing processes.
- Proficient Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office.
- Understands safety regulation and procedures.
- Required to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
Develops and maintains an effective quality organization through the hire selection, performance management, discipline, training, and motivation.
Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, attendance, and disciplinary measures.
- Directly supervises Inspectors to include payroll, overtime hours, and PTO.
- Acquire and maintain DQR certification for all self-release customers.
- Mentor and train inspectors with regard to inspection methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Track and improve productivity and efficiency within the Inspection department.
- Maintain and continuously improve inspection procedures and processes.
- Assist in determining CapEx needs pertaining to the Inspection Department
- Maintain calibration of measurement tools and gauges
- Determine root cause/corrective action for inspection-related issues.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure that First Article and non-conforming part data is accurate and communicated in a timely manner.
Working Conditions:
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer/AeroCision documents with or without corrective lenses
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time
