We are currently seeking Full Stack Java Developer for an assignment in Fair Oaks, VA a multi-year project.

Job Title: Mainframe Cobol Developer
Job Type : Contract
Job Location: Columbus, OH/Atlanta, GA (Day 1 Onsite)


Basic qualifications for consideration: Minimum 8-12 years’ Experience

Below are the main skills:

  • Mainframe COBOL, 3 to 5 yrs recent exp.
  • Experience with iSeries, Unisys, and/or other mainframe technologies    
  • Agile and/or DevOps experience      
  • Knowledgeable in test driven development (TDD) and automated functional testing including tools like UFT, Postman, and Selenium.
  • C language experience is preferred but nor required
An associate’s degree in computer Programming or related discipline is required, but a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related discipline is preferred.

Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in application development.

Preferred qualifications for consideration:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Experience with iSeries, Unisys, and/or other mainframe technologies.
  • Experience with mainframe development languages such as Cobol.
  • Experience with C programming
  • Experienced with source management tools including GIT or similar tools.
  • Agile and/or DevOps experience.
  • Knowledgeable in industry standard software design patterns, development, data modelling, and SOLID principals.
  • Knowledgeable in test driven development (TDD) and automated functional testing including tools like UFT, Postman, and Selenium.
  • Ability to resolve architectural problems including scalability, performance, reliability, usability & security.
  • A strong knowledge of the relationship between software and hardware interaction.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on work on highly complex projects within tight timelines
  • The ability to clearly communicate complex technical specifications, and a motivation to achieve best-in-class results. 
  • Financial industry interest and experience is beneficial
