Prepare all SusieCakes product offerings, custom and specialty cakes as guests request. Maintain the SusieCakes quality standards in the creation of each product. Ensure daily production is completed and product inventory levels are met. Perform duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to recipes and standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, cakes, cookies, pies, bars, puddings, buttercreams, etc.
- Lead team to mix, bake, build, decorate, and inscribe products in an efficient manner (as applicable)
- Assign daily production to team members and ensure its completion
- Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
- Assist in checking in/processing of guest order as needed to support daily and future business
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment including, but not limited to, mixers, ovens, sheeters, three-compartment sink/dishwasher, grease traps, etc.
- Ensure accuracy of orders and product quality standards, i.e. taste and esthetic
- Monitor and maintain product inventory levels minimizing waste and/or overproduction
- Perform opening and closing shifts as scheduled
- Perform dishwasher duties as needed
- Assist and train culinary team members as directed by General Manager
- Assist guest service team with guests as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of previous culinary experience, pastry experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in cross functional roles as needed (front-of house & back-of-house)
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs
- Must have reliable transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to taste product for quality assurance i.e buttercream(s), cake(s) and cupcake(s)batter, cookie dough and other recipes as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Culinary degree preferred
- High school diploma or GED
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English for safety purposes
OTHER:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
