SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions within the finance department. This includes preparing and maintaining financial records, ensuring the accuracy of transactions, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Post journal entries, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger entries.
- Reconcile and report on daily cash activities.
- Review and approve payables invoices submitted by the regional accounting team.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure the accuracy of all financial information and records during the closing process
- Support year-end audits by providing necessary documentation and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations, including those set by Medicaid and other relevant bodies.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights into healthcare operations, identifying trends and discrepancies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with NetSuite accounting software a plus
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
