Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Program Manager provides supervision and documentation review for assigned Beyond the Classroom school-based staff and FPS providers. Supports the development of standardized best practices and upstream, prevention-focused interventions across the program. Partners with Clinical Managers and Director to ensure holistic achievement of department goals, with an emphasis on addressing root causes before needs escalate.

  • Promotes an upstream continuum-of-care approach that integrates universal prevention, early intervention, and treatment support for both students and caregivers, where appropriate.
  • Leads senior team leads and program specialist team, serves as direct performance manager for senior team leads.
  • Coordinates collaboration of school behavioral health teams to ensure prevention initiatives are informed by behavioral health trends and population-level trends, expanding services in schools to reach more children and families earlier.
  • Develops program initiatives that emphasize upstream prevention strategies and complement tiered behavioral health supports, ensuring consistency across universal, targeted, and intensive interventions. Partners with The Character Effect department, where appropriate.
  • Participates in cross-disciplinary meetings with clinical staff to ensure seamless communication and service coordination that supports early identification and upstream response to emerging needs.
  • Utilizes school and program data such as Family Wellness and Needs Assessments to identify trends, inform prevention strategies, and support early identification of behavioral needs.
  • Reviews service documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with program, funder, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with clinical staff to maintain, analyze, and prepare program data and reports to ensure timely and accurate information is delivered to internal and external stakeholders, including data demonstrating upstream prevention impact.
  • Collaborates with clinical staff to implement quality improvement strategies and training based on data, feedback, and program goals, with a focus on strengthening upstream capacity.
  • Develops, coaches, and mentors Program Specialists and Senior Team Leads to obtain and maintain prevention credentialing in alignment with OCDP and OCAM, reinforcing prevention competencies that support upstream, school-based intervention.
  • Provides strategic leadership, coaching, and performance oversight for School Solutions Program Specialists and Senior Team Leads, to ensure high-quality service delivery and outcomes.
  • Develops policies and procedures in alignment with Peer Support requirements from ODBH and ODMHAS, ensuring services are delivered using lived experience, caregiver voice, and evidence-informed peer support practices that strengthen upstream family engagement.
  • Strengthens school and caregiver support through promotion of increased Family Peer Support on-site presence, fostering stronger relationships and more frequent collaboration with Beech Acres staff, school staff, and families.
  • Develops, coaches, and mentors Family Peer Support Specialists, supporting staff in navigating complex family needs and system barriers, maintaining focus on addressing challenges before they escalate into higher-level interventions.
  • Develops culture of accountability and teamwork within each team supervised. Serves as performance management supervisor for Family Peer Support.
  • Provides regular oversight and supervision of Family Peer Support Specialists as required and needed, focusing on skill development and adherence to Peer Support competencies to ensure staff objectives and job expectations are clear, staff has the support, knowledge, materials, procedures, and protocols to perform the work as written and expected and that result in program, agency, and contractual outcomes and obligations being met.
  • Ensures Family Peer Support Specialists obtain and maintain certifications in alignment with ODBH and ODMHAS.
  • Ensures that quality services are provided to children and families using best and evidence-based practices and strength-based interventions in alignment with our strategic outcomes and definitions.
  • Builds effective relationships with schools, behavioral health providers, child welfare agencies, and other community partners to advance upstream prevention efforts across systems.
  • Supports compliance through audit participation, facilitating real-time feedback to identify root causes of compliance gaps, provides re-training, and ensures prevention of recurring compliance gaps.
  • Promotes agency culture that embodies the values of Integrity, Inclusion, Collaboration, Growth and Quality and practice of Natural Strength Parenting/ISMP and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Oversees delivery of prevention curriculum, workshops, and community outreach activities across assigned sites. This role is school based in nature and may require work outside of standard business hours to support family events, school events, etc. Frequent travel throughout the community is required

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Prevention, or related Human Services area of study.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with kids and/or families with at least 2 years delivering peer support services, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain active Ohio LISW-S, OCPC, or CHES licensure.
  • Must hold certification for Peer Support Supervision as required by ODBH and ODMHAS.
  • Previous experience in a school-based services setting is preferred.
  • Subject matter expert in determination and selection of best practices as related to the identified client need and determination of prevention process and interventions to be provided to the child and their family, including treatment planning, intervention development and discharge planning.
  • Strong ability to lead, develop, mentor and coach team to success.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to engage and motivate teams towards achievement of goals and targets.
