Responsibilities

As a member of the General Dynamics Financial Reporting Team, you will be responsible for preparing filings for the Securities and Exchange Commission (10-Q, 10-K, 8K) and supporting other regulatory filings. You will interact with senior leadership and financial leaders across the globe in support of our reporting requirements and in contributing to General Dynamics’ continued success.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare internal management financial information and analyses based on the consolidated financial statements and supplemental information.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8- K), securities registration statements (Forms S-3, S-4) and other regulatory filings, as necessary.
  • Coordinate with independent auditors to assist in audit requests.
  • Research technical accounting matters and implement newly-issued accounting literature and SEC rule- making releases across business units.
  • Consult with business unit financial management on technical accounting matters.
  • Prepare internal presentations on accounting and financial reporting matters for senior management, the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • Support continuous improvement projects including technology-based initiatives.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Education & Training Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job
  • CPA

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in “Big 4” public accounting or comparable relevant industry experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, set priorities and handle multiple tasks and demonstrate good planning and organization skills. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completeness and accuracy.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels including being an effective team member.
  • Strong public speaking/presentation skills, including the ability to develop presentations for senior management.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace & Defense industry and related accounting matters is preferable.
  • Experience with OneStream consolidation software and Workiva SEC reporting tool desirable. Interest or experience with advanced technologies (generative AI, robotic process automation) within the finance organization is preferable.
  • Must be willing to work at the General Dynamics' Corporate Headquarters facility Monday through Friday and as needed in emergency situations.
