Description:

NATURE OF WORK:

The Junior Network Engineer provides hands-on operational support for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure under the guidance of senior technical staff. This entry level role is designed for candidates with foundational networking knowledge who are eager to develop practical skills through real world troubleshooting, collaboration with cross functional teams, and exposure to enterprise networking environments.

SUPERVISION:

Employee plans and coordinates work with the Information Technology Manager according to event schedules, maintenance requirements, project timelines, and established operational procedures. Reports to the Information Technology Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).

· Monitor network performance and availability, respond to alerts and incidents, and perform basic troubleshooting and proper escalation.

· Support VLAN, IP addressing, routing, and switching configurations.

· Participate in ticket resolution and change management procedures.

· Assist with firewall rule reviews, VPN setup, and remote access support.

· Help maintain network security best practices (patching, access controls, basic segmentation).

· Assist with network setups for event business and support clients as needed.

· Help with routine backups of device configurations.

· Collaborate with team members on projects and deployments.

· Support continuous improvement in the process and quality of the operations.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

· Wednesday through Sunday schedule. Standard full-time hours with occasional off-hours for maintenance or incident response.

Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.

· 0-2 years experience in networking or IT support.

· Basic understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and routing concepts.

· Strong troubleshooting mindset, attention to detail, and clear written/verbal communication.

· Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing schedules based on event demands.

· Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar.

· Experience with Aruba device configuration and CLI.

· Exposure to firewall platforms (e.g., Fortinet)

· Basic scripting or automation knowledge for routine tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Work is medium in nature, requires concentrated attention to prevent errors, and is performed under normal working conditions.

SALARY: Non - Exempt

$53,000 - $73,400
