Position Title: Surgery Tech Certified - FMC OR (.6 FTE, Days)

Description

Wage Range: $34.56 - $57.67 per hour

Bonus:
Up to $1,500 for those new to EvergreenHealth and 0-2 years of Surgery Tech experience.

Up to $4,500 for those new to EvergreenHealth and a minimum of 2+ years of Surgery Tech experience.

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

We are searching for an experienced Surgery Tech (Scrub Tech) to join our Family MaternityCenter OR team!The Surgery Tech - Certified works as a member of the patient care team focusing on the procedural care needs.

Primary Duties:
  1. Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each surgical procedure as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
  2. Demonstrates close attention to detail regarding aseptic technique at all times.
  3. Performs all counts as defined in the OR policies and procedures measured by documentation on the OR record.
  4. Maintains an orderly and sterile instrument table and/or Mayo stand per standardize set ups.
  5. Identifies sterility of instruments knows all indicator parameters.
  6. Anticipates the surgical routine and acts proactively according to surgeons instructions
  7. Remains alert and demonstrate an ability to handle unexpected situations with calm efficiency.
  8. Asks appropriate questions to enhance the care of the patient
  9. Handles medications on the sterile field under the direct observation of a registered nurse.
  10. Handles records, labels, and specimens according to established policy and procedure.
  11. Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values.
  12. Participates in patient safety activities including pre-surgical pause.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be registered as a Surgical Technologist within the State of Washington.
  • Must have and maintain NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification at time of hire.
DESIRED for the position:
  • Two (2) years of Surgical Tech experience,
  • Recent L&D experience preferred
