CR II: Coder II at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

The Health Information Management Department is seeking a Certified Coder II that proficiently codes emergency room, day surgery, chemo/radiation, and transplant charts by ICD-10-CM and CPT coding rules and guidelines. The coder will work under the Assistant Director. One of the following credentials are required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, or CPC-A. Also required is minimum high school graduate with successful completion of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology course. The coder II must have the ability to accurately code diseases and operations by use of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding manuals/software. One year experience in Health Information Management Department is desired. Opportunity to work remotely is available. Upon hiring, it will be required to attend an orientation session. This requirement must be met before actual work in the department can begin.
