Are you ready to join the programmatic evolution?Index Exchange is looking for a Buyer Development Director to lead and grow strategic holding company relationships in the US. Index is financially strong, independent, and in growth mode, with modern technology and no legacy platform drag. We are moving fast in the areas buyers care about most, including streaming, sell-side decisioning, and Marketplace innovation, while remaining grounded in transparency, neutrality, and partnership. In this role, you will own whole-company relationships across major agency holding companies, setting strategy and driving consistent execution across operating agencies and buying teams. You will drive revenue growth through product adoption and build long-term relationships and partnership value, while acting as the senior buyer voice within Index. This role sits at the intersection of commercial leadership, buyer strategy, and marketplace innovation. This is your opportunity to help us define the next phase of buyer strategy at Index Exchange.

What we’re looking for:
- A senior commercial leader with deep experience working across agency holding companies
- Strategic thinker who can set vision and translate it into execution at agency and team level
- Driven ownership of revenue growth, product adoption, and partnership outcomes across complex organizations
- Strong influential leadership skills to steer commercial relationships and represent the buyer POV across product and GTM teams within Index
- Confident communicator who can build relationships and engage with senior leaders and stakeholders
- Technically credible with strong programmatic and marketplace knowledge
- Own and lead whole-company relationships with major agency holding companies in the US
- Define and execute holding company strategy, aligning Index’s Marketplace, products, and supply innovation to buyer priorities
- Drive revenue growth and increased adoption of Index’s buyer-facing products across operating agencies and buying teams
- Act as a trusted advisor on SPO, marketplace quality, curation, data activation, and evolving buying models
- Set executive alignment through strategic planning sessions, QBRs, and senior stakeholder engagement
- Represent the buyer perspective internally, influencing Product roadmap and go-to-market decisions
- Identify new commercial opportunities across holding companies, operating agencies, and emerging buying models
- Partner closely with Buyer Account Management teams to ensure consistent execution and impact across accounts
- Track buyer and market trends and provide clear insights to senior Index leadership
- Represent Index at industry events and senior partner forums
Here's what you need:
- 8+ years of experience in digital media with deep knowledge of the programmatic advertising ecosystem (SSP, DSP, exchange, PMP, agency trading desk, ad server, etc.)
- Proven success in senior, buyer-facing commercial roles working with agency holding companies
- Your network boasts deep relationships and demonstrates your comfort navigating complex commercial models through strong agency and brand connections
- Experience selling into teams at various levels, you understand what each buyer cares about
- Strong track record of driving revenue growth, product adoption, and strategic partnerships
- Confidence delivering technical and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders
- A track record of leading through strategy and influence, not through direct reports
