About the role

Insight Xcite is seeking a Software Developer to support mission-critical operational and enterprise environments within the Intelligence Community. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure applications and services supporting high-priority customer missions. The ideal candidate has strong software development experience, thrives in fast-paced environments, and enjoys solving complex technical challenges across a variety of mission and enterprise systems. Compensation is determined based on experience, technical expertise, certifications, mission requirements, and overall alignment with customer and contract needs.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain mission-focused software applications
  • Develop backend services, APIs, and enterprise applications
  • Support system integrations and modernization initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Participate in Agile development and DevOps activities
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and operational teams
  • Contribute to secure software development and deployment practices
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and code repositories

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP)
  • Minimum 6 years of software development experience
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript
  • Experience developing APIs, enterprise applications, or distributed systems
  • Experience with Git, version control, and software development lifecycle practices
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, or automation tools
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or government environments
  • Full stack or frontend development experience
  • Relevant technical certifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The pay range for this role is:
185,000 - 240,000 USD per year(Government Client Site – Herndon VA)
185,000 - 240,000 USD per year(Government Client Site – Chantilly VA)
