Overview

The Management Trainee Program provides comprehensive exposure to the banking and financial services industry, while offering a customized experience unique to each Management Trainee (MT) based on their particular interests and career goals. The rotational nature of the Management Trainee Program provides the opportunity to cultivate new relationships and engage with diverse teams, leaders, and departments throughout the organization.

As a Management Trainee, you will gain enterprise exposure to various departments within the Commercial Banking division, the Consumer Banking division, and diverse areas within our Shared Services division, grooming a well-rounded banker.

Work Location: (Required)

  • MTs are hybrid employees and must follow Fulton Bank’s hybrid work policy. They will be provided with a primary workstation on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, PA (1 Penn Square Lancaster, PA 17602) and with equipment to work from alternative locations or remotely as needed/able.
  • Relocation assistance will not be provided. Temporary hotel housing may be provided for non-local residents as needed. When the MT is being considered for a full-time position post-program, they must secure residency within our five-state service area.

Work Hours: (Required)

  • Standard hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (dependent on the work volume and rotational assignment).
  • The Management Trainee program may require travel to various locations dependent upon the department rotation, work schedule, volunteer opportunity, and business need.
  • When necessary, travel within Fulton's footprint (up to 20-30% depending on assignment) and hours worked may vary.
  • The MT is eligible for mileage reimbursement and overtime compensation.

As a condition of employment, individuals must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for a work visa by Fulton Financial Corporation currently or in the future.



Responsibilities

  • Under moderate supervision from the MT Program Manager and/or Rotation Manager, the Trainee is responsible for observing policies and procedures to acquire a working knowledge of all aspects of the Corporation's operation and services, while performing assigned duties in department rotations and executing with the intent to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Conducts special projects and assignments outside scope of normal rotation, attending seminars, events, and various corporate engagements in support of the Bank and/or employee professional development.
  • Takes full responsibility and initiative to lead and/or or participate in various efforts assigned to the Management Trainee class, including fundraisers, campaigns, and community involvement opportunities.
  • Routinely communicates and reports on progress in program and provides feedback about program to Manager(s).
  • Rotations may include but are not limited to: Consumer Banking & Strategy, Commercial Banking/Credit, Technology & Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis/Corporate Finance, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Marketing, Mortgage, Risk/Compliance, Sales, etc. Select individuals may represent Fulton Bank and partner with executives to support regional United Way campaign(s).


Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree obtained from an accredited college or university.
    Specialty focus in Accounting, Analytics/Data, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Management Information Systems/Technology, Marketing, or another Business or Banking related program.

Preferred Education:

  • Achievement of a graduating GPA of 3.0 or higher in an undergraduate or graduate program is strongly preferred.


Required Experience

  • A minimum of six (6) months' work experience through internship, co-op or direct work experience in banking/financial services, customer service, or a business-related field (example – retail, call center, customer focused field, etc.).
  • Measurable leadership demonstrated through work experience, professional development, collegiate, fraternal, social, school, or volunteer position.
  • Ability and desire to leverage technology to create digital efficiencies in the workplace.
  • Strong technical skills and digital acumen utilizing Microsoft Office including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as webcam/video, AI, and other systems and platforms.
  • Ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, a curious growth mindset with a willingness to learn, a strong and professional personal brand, effective time management skills, willingness to receive coaching and feedback, and the ability to work independently or on a team meeting deadlines and producing high quality deliverables.
