Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer II to support day-to-day purchasing activities that keep our manufacturing operations running smoothly. This role is responsible for managing assigned suppliers and commodities, ensuring materials are delivered on time, at the right cost, and in alignment with production needs.
You’ll partner closely with Production, Engineering, Inventory, and Quality teams to maintain uninterrupted workflow while driving supplier performance and process improvements.

What You’ll DoPurchasing & Supplier Management
- Procure direct and indirect materials, components, and services to support production schedules
- Manage supplier relationships, including pricing, lead times, delivery, and issue resolution
- Execute and manage purchase orders and changes within ERP/MRP systems
- Track and expedite orders to meet production and customer commitments
- Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and compliance
- Collaborate with Production Planning and Inventory teams to align purchasing with demand
- Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and safety stock targets
- Support cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and root cause analysis
- Help mitigate risks related to long lead times, obsolescence, and demand volatility
- Support RFQs, sourcing initiatives, and supplier negotiations
- Identify cost savings and lead time reduction opportunities
- Analyze spend and supplier performance data to inform decisions
- Participate in process improvement initiatives across procurement workflows
- Serve as a procurement point of contact for assigned commodities or product lines
- Partner with Engineering on specifications and changes
- Work with Quality on supplier issues and corrective actions
- Support audits and internal controls related to purchasing and inventory
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Experience sourcing direct materials for production environments
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Experience with onsite inventory and warehouse operations
- Exposure to RFQs and supplier negotiations
- Understanding of production planning, lead times, and inventory optimization
- CPIM, CPSM, or similar certification (or in progress)
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong communication and follow-through
- Sense of urgency with a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction on the production floor
- Occasional travel to supplier sites may be required
