Barista in Jacksonville, Florida at Southern Grounds - Jax Beach

Southern Grounds is a chef-driven all day cafe, featuring coffee from Intelligentsia roasters. We're hospitality-obsessed, and team-focused. We're currently hiring experienced baristas.
SoGro is rapidly expanding, and this role offers great potential for growth!
Duties
Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, wines, beers and cocktails with precision and hospitality!
Handle prep tasks such as making cold brew, brewing teas and coffee, prepping cocktail batches and stocking items.
Operate Toast POS efficiently while handling cash transactions
Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries promptly
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling stations and seating areas
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality
Follow all food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
Requirements
Prior barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred
Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS is a plus
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order processing
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably around the café, and lift moderate loads as needed
Experience in serving or food service roles within cafés or retail environments is advantageous
