Job Overview:

The Radiology Department Manager oversees daily operations and staff performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services across all modalities. This position drives clinical excellence and financial outcomes while maintaining strict regulatory compliance and a steadfast commitment to patient safety and efficient workflow.

Qualifications:

Required:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.

Certifications

• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• State licensure

Preferred:

• 5+ years of experience in radiology or diagnostic imaging.
• 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting.

Scheduling Requirements

• Monday – Friday (May require occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call coverage)
• 37.5 Hours.

Essential Functions:

• Directs daily operations for all imaging modalities—including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine—to ensure optimal staffing, workflow, and patient throughput.
• Manages the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of technologists and support staff while fostering a culture of teamwork and professional development.
• Ensures departmental adherence to standards set by The Joint Commission, ACR, and FDA, while maintaining strict radiation safety and ALARA principles.
• Develops and monitors department budgets and productivity metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and manage capital equipment planning.
• Oversees comprehensive quality control programs and incident reporting to implement corrective actions and maintain clinical excellence.
• Upholds high standards for patient safety and satisfaction, resolving concerns and ensuring strict infection control and safe imaging practices.
• Partners with physicians and nursing leadership to optimize care delivery and works with IT to manage PACS and RIS technology systems.
