Key Responsibilities:
As a Moulder Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of high-quality wood profiles. In this role, you will:
- Perform full moulder setups and changeovers, including loading heads and adjusting the machine for a variety of different profiles
- Produce and grade finished wood products to ensure every piece meets company quality standards
- Operate the moulder safely and expediently while maintaining precise attention to detail throughout the production run
- Follow established procedures in the execution of all daily tasks to maintain consistency and workflow.
- Conduct regular visual and measurement quality checks using specialized devices to ensure product accuracy.
- Maintain and clean machinery and parts during the production process to prevent debris buildup and ensure machine longevity.
- Troubleshoot machine issues to identify and fix problems, performing necessary routine maintenance or scheduling professional service as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times to minimize hazards and support a productive environment.
- Comply with all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a secure workplace for yourself and your teammates.
What You Bring:
At Muskoka Lumber, we are looking for a dedicated professional who combines technical mechanical skill with a strong work ethic and a sharp eye for quality. Required skills, abilities, and attributes:
- Proven experience as a Moulder Operator or in a similar industrial milling or manufacturing environment
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to use various measuring devices accurately
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards under production deadlines, with a safety-first mindset
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
- Dependable and organized work habits, with a focus on punctuality and efficient task management
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Strong hand-eye coordination and the physical ability to handle wood products and machine components and complete the essential duties of the position
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member within a team environment
- Forklift certification and experience an asset (training available)
