What You Will Do:

The Corporate Communications Co-op Student will support internal and external communications through website updates, content creation, and employee messaging. The role will focus on creating digital, social media, and media release content while assisting with events, community initiatives, and change management communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of Corporate website – create pages in WordPress, write and post content and update graphics.
  • Content creation for all social media channels, including graphics, videos, educational posts and employee testimonials.
  • Employee Communication - company updates, intranet posting and project updates.
  • Media Releases – write attention-grabbing releases that result in local media coverage.
  • Photography & Video – Capture professional photos and videos of employees and events.
  • Event Planning – Assist with organization, set up and implementation of community, industry and employee events. Attend and participate in events as a company representative.
  • Design – Create customized images, graphics, and visual materials using Canva and other design programs.
  • Change Management – Assist with development of change management communications.
  • Sponsorships and Donations - Assist with logistics and promotion.
  • Employee Volunteer Recognition Program – assist with program logistics.
  • Analytics – Create and analyze website and intranet performance reports.

What You Will Bring

  • Enrollment in a College/University program in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field.
  • Eligible for a co-op or internship term through your institution.
  • Communication and writing skills are essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Canva.
  • Skilled in the use of WordPress.
  • Skilled in video editing software.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, Hootsuite, LinkedIn).
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and individually.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects/tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
