About This Position

National Mechanical Experts Inc. is looking for a dynamic, hardworking, HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina.

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining strong customer relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Service, Repairs & Maintenance

  • Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems
  • Respond to emergency service calls and minimize system downtime
  • Maintain appropriate vehicle inventory to complete repairs efficiently
  • Complete maintenance logs and job documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding work performed, system conditions, and recommendations
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify potential service needs
  • Ensure all work meets company standards, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable codes
Health & Safety
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer site requirements
  • Identify and address jobsite safety hazards and report concerns as needed
  • Properly use and maintain all required PPE and safety equipment
  • Perform regular vehicle and equipment safety inspections
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments at all times
Training & Development
  • Support and mentor apprentices and junior technicians in the field
  • Assist with on-the-job training related to technical skills and safety practices
  • Participate in required safety and technical training programs
  • Stay current on new equipment, technology, and industry standards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Trade school training or equivalent experience preferred
  • Universal EPA Certification required
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
