Job Function

An Industrial Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the efficiency of industrial operations. This professional works with a variety of machinery and equipment, ensuring they run smoothly and safely. They perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance productivity. Industrial Technicians often collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop and execute maintenance plans. Their expertise helps prevent costly downtime and ensures that production targets are met.

Responsibilities

1. Comply with all safety requirements resulting in zero safety violations. This includes participating in all safety related activities such as safety talks, behavioral based safety observations, audits, etc.

2. Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on equipment used during daily manufacturing.

3. Perform changeovers, disassemble and assemble machinery.

4. Follows standard operating and LOTO procedures for all assigned tasks.

5. Experience and/or training in welding fabrication, industrial electricity, such as 480-volt 3 phase, control circuits, PLS’s and other industrial manufacturing disciplines.

6. Review and maintain electronic work orders, timekeeping, and parts inventory system.

7. Review and maintain electronic records of maintenance repair actions; provide analysis of data retrieved.

8. Maintain physical accountability and inventory of parts and equipment in storehouse; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.

9. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

10. Analyze operating processes to help maximize efficiency and assist with maintaining efficient machine operations.

11. Wear the appropriate PPE as required.

12. Maintain a clean work environment ensuring that there are no pellets or debris on the floor or machines and all tools and equipment are in the proper location.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 5 years previous experience working in an industrial maintenance role of similar capacity at an industrial manufacturing facility

2. Availability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed; provide on-call service when required

3. Must be able to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturers’ instructions and engineering specifications, write routine correspondence, and speak the English language to effectively communicate with supervisors and other team members.

4. Must be able to climb stairs, ladder.

5. Properly follow written and verbal operating and LOTO procedures; complete work within given deadlines

6. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and problems effectively
