The Opportunity

We are looking for more than just a History Teacher - we are seeking a history scholar who can capture the hearts and minds of our students. An educator with Honours History Specialist Qualifications and ideally a graduate degree in History will join the Canadian and World Studies Department to cultivate critical thinking and encourage students to analyze, interpret and question the past, fostering a deep understanding of its impact on the present. Faculty at UTS lead students in embracing diverse perspectives and contributing towards our active schoolwide commitment to anti-racism, diversity and inclusion, ensuring all voices past and present are heard and valued. This is a full-time (100%FTE) continuing bargaining unit position, starting August 26, 2025.

Candidates applying for this position must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, and have:

  • History Honour Specialist Qualifications.

  • A minimum of five years of teaching experience with a focus on History, and

  • Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of the role of equity diversity and inclusion across curricular and co-curricular activities.
