About This Position
The College of Arts and Sciences at Avila University is seeking qualified adjunct instructors for introductory lecture Philosophy courses for Fall 2023 (with potential for Spring 2024) semester. Adjunct instructors will provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the specific course(s) taught.
Responsibilities:
Lectures for introductory courses
Conduct all class sessions in person according to the assigned schedule
Provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the specific course(s) taught,
Deliver content using effectual methods which are appropriate to students with differing abilities, levels of preparation, and cultural experiences,
Work effectively with the program Chair and/or the Dean,
Perform other duties as needed related to assigned courses.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in specific discipline relevant to teaching responsibilities
Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching,
Teaching experience with a diverse population (preferred),
Experience with a Learning Management System such as Canvas (preferred).
Compensation: Stipend based on the credit hours assigned and previous teaching experience.
