CDL Drivers for Seasonal Container Delivery and Pick up at Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District – Midvale, Utah

We are currently hiring several Class B CDL seasonal/temporary driver positions that will work until the end of September. Drivers will deliver containers to residential driveways by reservation to dispose of bulky items that will not fit in the garbage cans. This job posting is open until filled and may close at any time.
This position requires a full range of motion in the shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, legs, and feet. Must be able to push, pull, or lift to 70 pounds as necessary to ensure the route is complete and free of debris. Must exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Must drive and sit for extended periods while exposed to traffic hazards, inclement weather, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and potentially unsanitary conditions; personal protective equipment is mandatory. Must be climb into and out of equipment regularly. Drivers operate 26,000 lb. Hook Lift Trucks and deliver containers to residential driveways, then return the next day and haul the filled containers to the closest dumping facility. Uncover containers at dumping facilities and cover containers before entering roadway.

Drivers must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a valid DOT Medical Card at the time of hire. Knowledge of general operation and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment; read maps, and follow routing for efficient and effective coverage making sure all streets and stops are serviced in an assigned geographical area, and follow the laws regarding refuse transportation and regulations governing CDL operators. Be able to drive and operate heavy equipment in a safe manner; work effectively as a team member and individually. Must be able to read, understand, and follow safety procedures.


• Drivers must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a valid DOT Medical Card at the time of hire.
• Be cleared by the FMCSA clearinghouse.
• Be able to secure loads before entering the roadway.
• Perform Daily D.O.T. inspections on vehicles and attached equipment.
• Read Maps and use routing tools for efficient coverage.
• CDL operators follow all laws regarding waste transportation (safety)
• Must be able to work individually or as a team member.
• Read, understand, and follow all safety procedures.
• Be able to drive and operate heavy equipment in a safe manner.


The hourly rate for this position is $25.43. This is a seasonal position and no benefits are offered.
