Job Description
Position Summary and Objectives
As a Summer Student, the General Labourer reports to the Manager, Technical Services and will provide support for the day-to-day operations of the building maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain Quality Building Premises- General maintenance including but not limited to housekeeping, i.e., sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling, coil cleaning, pressure washing etc.
- Painting as required, this may include but not limited to common areas, mechanical rooms and/or exterior fixtures.
- May assist with projects as required.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations and execute all work in a safe and professional manner.
- Provide excellent quality Tenant services, emphasizing a co-operative, helpful and non-disruptive approach in all interactions with Tenants.
- Support best practices to reduce energy consumption.
Perform other related responsibilities as requested from time to time
QualificationsEducation- Secondary Diploma, required
- Post-Secondary Education: Currently a 3rd or 4th year student, required
- High degree of professionalism and passion for success
- Maintains a focus on results, bringing tasks/projects to conclusion, on schedule.
- Fosters an environment that supports and recognizes effective teamwork.
- Is open to learning and developing new skills and knowledge.
- Projects and maintains a professional, respectful, courteous and positive attitude when dealing with Tenants and co-workers.
- Demonstrates flexibility in handling changing work conditions and/or pressures due to workload fluctuations, unscheduled interruptions or changing job content or environment.
- Prefer to have a valid, Ontario driver’s license and own a vehicle.
