Project Superintendent in Los Angeles, California at Nautilus General Contractors

Responsible for the successful implementation of a construction project by maintaining primary oversight of all construction activities on site. This includes the responsibility of coordinating and managing subcontractors, vendors, labor compliance, project budget, project schedule, jobsite safety, and Nautilus’ onsite personnel.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintains primary responsibility for all construction work performed in the field on assigned projects.
2. Responsible for site safety and security. Ensures that all safety measures and/or legal standards are consistently adhered to.
3. Oversees, manages, and supervises all subcontractors and vendors on site.
4. Gives leadership to and is present on job sites.
5. Oversees, manages, and supervises all Nautilus field labor on project site. Organizes the construction crew to allocate work according to schedule.
6. Ensures that all construction activities are adhering to designs perfectly, as per the schedule, plan, budget, details, specifications and scope of work.
7. Coordinates with the project design team and support staff as necessary.
8. Assists Project Manager with the preparation of documents such as investigation reports, letters, photos, etc. Assists Project Manager with client contact, communication, and relationships.
9. Assists the Project Manager in managing the project schedule.
10. Performs quality checks regularly to maintain company work standards on project sites.
11. Photo-documents work at key-points on job.
12. Keeps accurate daily records including daily reports of work performed on site.
13. Ensures quality of work standards are met.
14. Identifies problems or potential problems on site and reports them to superiors (Project Managers, General Superintendent, Director of Construction, as appropriate.)
15. Regularly uses Procore software to document and record construction activities.
16. Coordinates job site inspections with city officials, design professionals, manufacturer’s representatives, or third-party testing/inspection vendors as required.

Work Conditions/Requirements

1. Majority of time to be spent on-site or traveling between various projects.

Position Type

1. Full-time position, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule and/or evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands

1. Ability to safely navigate around active construction site.
2. Ability to work using computer and phone.

Travel

1. Regular travel via car to project work sites.
