TITLE: Corporate Supervisor of Food and Occupational Safety DIVISION: Safety

REPORTS TO: Corporate Manager, Food & Occupational Safety FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt/Salary

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The corporate Supervisor of food and occupational safety provides strong leadership and direction to the enterprise in Food Safety, Employee Safety, and good Manufacturing Practices, will oversee the food Safety and Occupational Safety Department and develop the departmental policies. Reports and backup to the Corporate Manager of Food and Occupational Safety. The Corporate Supervisor of Food and Occupational Safety serves as the SQF Practitioner to all facilities

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development and implementation of food safety, plant security for food safety, environmental and quality programs.
  • Enforce safety plans and food safety programs to achieve overall company objectives.
  • Provides support to departmental employees.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Coach and train employees on GMP’s.
  • Enforce GMP’s to maintain a quality product manufactured in a safe environment and meeting all target requirements.
  • Maintain, and enforce company quality standards.
  • The ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are maintained for all aspects of the food process, food safety, raw materials, finished food and customer specifications.
  • Responsible for the food Security Policy/Program to assess potential food security risks and to ensure food security preventative measures are being implemented and routinely audited regarding the manufacturing, handling and storage of all food ingredients as well as finished goods.
  • Responsibility for all customers and government audits to ensure compliance.
  • HACCP team Leader.
  • HACCP Audit and the pre-requisite program enforcement.
  • Annual and Customer Food Safety Audits including initial certification under the GFSI.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures in the area of Supervision.
  • Management and Leadership of continuous improvement projects/programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to remain organized, establish a plan and execute on Company priorities is required.
  • Commitment to steadily improving the organization and creating an outstanding performance –based work environment is also required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 to 10 years in Safety management at a food manufacturing facility.
