About This Position

Restek is seeking an Operations Technician I to join the Shipping Department. This position will be heavily involved with international shipping, as Restek ships to over 90 countries. Understanding the complexities of international shipping due to export regulations will be crucial to the success of this role. This position will work first shift, Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The successful candidate must demonstrate great attention to detail to ensure accuracy. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Picking, packing and shipping approximately 1500 line items worldwide daily
  • Understanding DOT/IATA regulations and guidelines for regulated items

The physical requirements of this position include, walking and standing for approx. 8-10 hrs. per shift with occasional breaks, stooping, bending down, reaching, pulling, pushing, fingering, picking, grasping, typing repetitive motion, ability to handle cold temperatures for periods of time, lifting heavy items (more than 45lbs.) from low to high and horizontally.

Qualifications:

Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Preferably 2 years of specialized training in a science-related technology or relevant experience. Previous manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Basic problem-solving using math and scientific principles. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic ERP systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge & Abilities:
    • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision.
    • Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills.
    • Communication: Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions and to communicate effectively with team members.
    • Teamwork: Friendly demeanor and ability to work well in a team setting.
  • EHS Knowledge: Understanding of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements for products.
